Master Craftsmen Owned and Operated

Creating home dream spaces for Northland residents is what the Trends Kitchen and Bathroom Specialists’ team does best. Our trio of founders, Damon Fowler, Jonathan Bullard, and Randy Reschke have more than 80 combined years of experience and truly love making homeowners’ dreams come true with beautiful kitchen, bathroom and full-home remodels.

Trends offers the Northland community professional design and contracting services. The team is focused on quality design and construction first. There are no slick marketing gimmicks or silver-tongued salespeople. When the Trends team shows up, homeowners get three of the best detail-oriented master craftsmen in the greater Kansas City area remodel business.

For more than 25 YEARS our founders have been MASTERING their craft.

Damon Fowler

Damon specializes in designing amazing spaces for homeowners and building custom homes. He has a passion for construction passed down to him from his grandfather. Taking his first job in construction in 1987, Damon has delivered custom homes and kitchen and bathroom remodels for more than 30 years. He loves designing, from the floor plan to the finishes, and he takes great pride in his tile work.

Randy Reschke

Randy has more than 25 years of experience in construction, having worked in all areas of the building process. He got his start in new homes as a crew leader for a large home builder. His many years of hands-on experience helps ensure projects are well planned and executed to deliver a high-quality product. Randy’s craftsmanship is hard to beat, whether it is something that will be seen every day or the framing of a wall that will never be seen.

The Trends Promise

Over the years, these three have regularly been called in to fix problems created by other contractors. Often these are jobs completed by organizations that specialize in marketing or design rather than in construction and whose promises often outweigh their expertise.  As a result, the team is often called on to fix spaces that may look good upon first appearance but fail in a short period of time because of the poor craftsmanship underneath. Trends has the skills to ensure the construction behind the design is as beautiful as the finished product that clients see. “We definitely subscribe to the adage: Do it right the first time.

For the Trends team, creating a client’s dream space is all about the details.  The details are things that our clients most often comment about.  For instance, clean lines and edges may not initially catch the eye of the client, but when an area of a bathroom or a section on a backsplash are not even or a line is slightly off, it will drive clients crazy looking at it every day and thinking: “How much did I spend on this?” This is why we are crazy focused on the details.

Clean

Most of our jobs involve getting to the studs, which means the job can be messy and may take weeks to complete.  We strive to ensure our clients’ space remains clean throughout.  This means being sure the space clean at the end of the day and taking precautions to wall of space to prevent dust from getting into the other spaces.

Transparent

Of course, high-quality craftsmanship is critical, too. With our experience and attention to detail, the team is able to select and use the right products for each job.  For example, we use a special shower pan material, Hydro-Blok, when finishing bathrooms because they know that traditional mud pans don’t provide the level of waterproofing needed to protect their clients’ investment from water damage over the life of their bathroom.

Quality

As a project moves along its important that our client have a clear understanding of what is going on with their project.  We also are in constant communication, including regular walk-throughs so the client can see what work is being completed and there are no surprises.  Clients will also be given a dashboard that provides them 24/7 access to their project where they can track progress.

Five Star Rating

Damon and his team were great to work with. They designed and completed a major renovation including moving a structural wall for our Master Bath renovation. They showed up when they said they would, cleaned up every day and their attention to detail was excellent. Their bid was reasonable compared to others and their design ideas were spot on. Damon also listens to ideas and is willing to incorporate into the plan. Even though there were delays in the project due to supply chain issues, they didn't change order us to death. They also fixed things that needed fixing at N/C because as Damon says "we're there anyway, and it's the right thing to do". We will hire Damon and the Trends team for our next project.

Make it Grand!

The Trends team’s favorite feature to install with bathroom remodels is the Grand Infiniti Niche, featuring wide insets and customer tile work.  These are not just insets, they are works of art.

Most showers have a standard, stud-width inset that are easy to add and not very functional.  However, the Grand Infiniti Niche typically measures several feet in width and defines the space. Installing it requires detailed work in the wall to properly route water lines.  Many contractors don’t do these because they are difficult and the tile work needs to be perfect or it will be noticed.  For us, the Grand Infiniti Niche is our calling card and nothing feels better than the look on our client’s face when they first set eyes on their new shower.
